Keywords:
Violence, Tourist Companies, Crime, VictimizationAbstract
The research focused on analyzing the
repercussions caused by direct (personal) and
indirect (structural) violence on suppliers of
tourist services, located in the Golden Zone of
Acapulco. Under a qualitative approach and with
an exploratory scope, semi-structured interviews
were carried out with key subjects and
volunteers, among whom are businessmen
suppliers of tourist services and security forces.
For the design of the interviews, aspects of direct
violence were considered, such as criminal
violence, public safety and victimization; as well
as aspects of indirect violence, such as symbolic
violence, behaviors, feelings and emotions.
Through the analysis of these interviews, the
result was a classification of the most common
crimes within companies such as: murders,
armed robberies, harassment, harassment and
labor exploitation, intentional homicides, among
others; that have an impact on losses, material
damage, a bad image of the destination and
diversifying other violent behaviors. With this, it
was possible to conclude that violence has
become normal for citizens, which reflects the
need for public policies and legal frameworks
aimed at improving values, behaviors, as well as
actions within and outside of tourism companies.
