This research summarizes a series of geohistorical
events surrounding the territorialization of the Nuevo
Mirador de SEDATU subdivision built in 2014. El
Nuevo Mirador is considered one of the most
important urban projects in the state of Guerrero by
the federal government, which implied the relocation
from the largest number of homes in high-risk areas
to a safe area.
For the development of this article, the conceptual
framework that sustains the research and the
geographical characteristics presented by the city of
Chilpancingo is presented first, to later reveal the
most transcendent events that occurred in the place
and finally show the fundamental reasons that
support the choice of approach geohistorical and the
proposed methodological solution.
The foregoing gave guidelines to understand and
identify the socio-territorial elements that generate
vulnerability and social cohesion in the inhabitants of
El Nuevo Mirador.
