Abstract

A study was carried out in a Pinus maximinoi
H.E. Moore located in the private property Ex
hacienda de Almolonga, Técpan de Galeana,
Guerrero. Classic models of dominant height
growth in forest biometrics (ChapmanRichards, Weibull, McDill-Amateis and
Hossfeld I) were fitted with the approach of
algebraic difference (ADA) and generalized
algebraic difference (GADA). The objective
was to modeling the growth in dominant height
and determine the site index. The results
indicate that the best model was that of
Hossfeld I under the GADA approach, it was
the one that obtained the highest adjusted
coefficient of determination and low estimation
errors (<1 m). This selected model was used to
construct of site index curves at a base age of
20 years. Its use is recommended to determine
the site index and qualify the levels of timber
productivity in the commercial forest plantation
of Pinus maximinoi H.E. Moore.
