In this article we analyze descriptively, from a
gender perspective, the journalistic notes of the
murders of women recorded for a one year in the
“Novedades de Acapulco " newspaper.
A record matrix was developed to describe the
conditions under which information notes are
produced. From a content analysis approach, we
recorded daily the number of women's deaths, their
name, place of residence, age, occupation,
characteristics of the manner in which the death
occurred and the source used by the journalist to
elaborate the note.
In the second part of the research, we used the
technique of discourse analysis, which explains the
incidence, orientation and influence of both the
media and those who elaborate the note to establish
culpability valuations and to provoke condemn by
the readers, to women who are murdered.
The gender approach is fundamental to explain the
revictimization that is made of women by
displaying them through a news content
sensationalist and with unethical of the mass media
and those who write the notes.
