The dances of the municipal of Azoyú,
Guerrero, are unique, due to the meaning that
they carry on to the people, for its music, color,
clothing, and because they represent an
intangible cultural heritage for the villagers.
The purpose of this research is to identify the
traditional dances of the municipal and its
characteristics; name, meaning, costumes and
the dates on which are practiced, then register
the local knowledge of the villagers. The
methodology used in this work was through the
ethnographic method and the interview was
used as an instrument for the data collection,
people were used as reference because they
have greater knowledge of the dances, and
acted as key informants in the investigation, a
total of 10 people. The results obtained allow us
to display the record of nine traditional dances
that are the following: los moros, el toro de
petate, los tlaminques, los chareos, la conquista,
el macho mula, los apaches, la tortuga and los
diablitos; as well as the characteristics that
identify them and why. Finally a catalog was
developed of the traditional dances of the
municipalit of azoyú Guerrero.
