This research work focuses specifically on the
phenomenon of the change of code that is presented
in the speech of Mè'phàà people belonging to an
agrarian nucleus, and thus have the legal status of
community members. As it is intended to show in
the work, the change of code is an expression of
linguistic processes that are usually present in
bilingual contexts but also in contexts where the
subjugation of one language on the other is
imminent. The phenomenon of change of code is a
subject little described in the Mexican indigenous
languages, are counted the studies around the
subject; Therefore, it is intended to see its linguistic
manifestation in a language spoken in the state of
Guerrero that belongs to the extensive family of the
Otomangues languages, the Mè'phàà.
