Abstract

his document is a synthesis of the research work of
the doctoral thesis in educational sciences, is of a
qualitative nature and the design used was mainly
that of action research. The problem on which the
educational intervention was developed was the low
academic performance (RA) in group 101 consisting
of 56 students of the first semester of the program of
Dentist Surgeon of the Higher School of Dentistry
(ESO-UAGro). The effort focused on the
improvement of learning from the use of the
problem-based learning strategy (ABP), which
resulted in improvement in the development of
teaching skills as they were; organizing, directing,
and developing processes in students 'learning both
at school and at work, was reflected in the
improvement of students' attitudes towards their
study, such as responsibility, commitment and
collaborative work. With these results we intend to
complement the tutoring work that the professors
develop in the University.
