Automatización de prototipo para producir biodiesel a partir de aceite de coco del Estado de Guerrero
Keywords:
Biodiesel, Automation, Coconut oilAbstract
Biodiesel is a biofuel with great boom around the
world due to be similar to conventional diesel with
benefits on environmental topics. Biodiesel can be
obtained from three raw materials: vegetal-oil,
alcohol and catalizer. Alcohol commonly used is
methanol or ethanol; catalyzer could be potassium
hydroxide (KOH) or sodium hydroxide (NaOH)
known as caustic soda. Guerrero has been the main
copra producer in Mexico during a long time. The
coconut oil can be transformed to biodiesel through
a sequential process. This process is implemented
on an automated prototype by means of
instrumentation and control devices considering the
physical and chemical characteristics of the used
materials. Operation essays show that the obtained
biodiesel from this automated prototype complies
with the international specifications
