Effect of inoculum levels of Meloidogyne incognita (Chit.) Kof. In the development of serrano chile plants.

This work was performed in order to evaluate the
effect of incubation levels of nematode
Meloidogyne spp. in the cultivation of serrano
pepper (Capsicum annuum). The experiment was
conducted at the Agricultural College of the State of
Guerrero (CSAEGro). 6 treatments with 4
replications were evaluated, generating 24
experimental units distributed in a completely
randomized design. To obtain the inoculum, eggs of
a sample of root galls were extracted using the
technique of (Ayvar, 1988). 3000, 6000, 9000,
12000 and 15000 eggs pot-1
): 5 levels of eggs were
inoculated. The study variables were: height, plant
dry weight and fresh weight of the root. It was
found that the inoculated species is Meloidogyne
incognita. The results indicate that the root-knot
nematode infection causes decreases in the growth
and development of plant serrano chile. Serrano
chile cultivation is not a good host of the nematode
M. incognita.
