Abstract

In the Mexican tropic region forages are the main
source of minerals for ruminants in grazing, so it is
important to know their contents since a deficiency
or an imbalance in the diet can affect fertility,
weight gain, production And the health of ruminants
in grazing. In most cases, tropical grasses present a
deficiency in more than one essential mineral
element and needs may be covered by the content of
mineral elements present in the native legumes
present in our ecosystems. In this respect, there are
few studies about the content of mineral elements in
legumes and more in different ecotypes of leucaena
and the present variation due to the phenological
stage.
