Abstract

The present study considers fundamental aspects
regarding the environmental problems that present
the Traditional Zone of the port of Acapulco,
mainly, concerning the pollution of the beaches, as
well as of the natural landscape. The article
describes the perception of this hotel zone, which
describes the negative environmental conditions,
also, some elements or factors that integrate it: first,
accumulated waste is evident, the loss of drinking
water by obsolete pipes, the lack of electrical energy
savings in luminaries in common areas, including
the discharge of wastewater, situations that should
be addressed to promote sustainability, to the
benefit of the environment. In this sense, recovery
of natural spaces is important. Environmental
education is a way of compensating the problems
described above through sustainability; it would
allow to identify new ways of implementing energy
saving techniques, as well as to propose viable
alternatives or strategies to improve the
environmental conditions of the tourist area
