Abstract

The light of the genus Quercus is one of the most
important, in this study it is proposed to determine
the number of species of Quercus, value of
importance and traditional knowledge in the El
Tejocote community, Malinaltepec, Guerrero. Field
surveys and surveys were conducted, semistructured open interviews were applied to the >50
year olds who considered the state more in contact
with resources. A systematic stratified sampling was
performed on a square of 100 m² to determine the
diameter of chest height (DAP) and density (n/ha).
As results are recorded in a total of 5 species of
Quercus with 1267 n/ha in the hill Q. rubramenta
was determined as the most abundant species with
2050 and 478 n/ha in strata 2 and 1 respectively,
followed by Q. crispifolia with 759 n/ha in stratum
3, for the other species were <200 n/ha.
Highlighting the use of the species as firewood and
the construction of houses.
