The aim of this research was to identify the use and
importance of wild mammals by the locals who speak
the Tu'un savi language, of the community of
Coapinola, municipal of Ayutla de los Libres,
Guerrero. The method used, allowed the description
of the local use of species and the registration of the
names in the Tu'un savi language (dialectal variant of
Ayutla de los Libres). Surveys were applied to key
informants of the community of study, using the
snowball method, where the following features were
contemplated that the informants should meet: age
(26-73 years), native of the community and have
knowledge of the wildlife. The taxonomic
identification of the species used by the locals was
made through the photographic comparison of the
species of mammals that they could register in the
study area. The data analysis was done in the
Microsoft Excel 2013 software.
