Abstract

The regional museum of Guerrero is not only a
cultural heritage for the state, but also for all of
Mexico. It is a key part of the state's identity, and it is
very important for new generations to know and value
it in order to keep the identity significance from being
forgotten. In order to accomplish this, it is vital to
showcase the museum's value through its public
image, and attract young people's attention.
This research aimed to delve into the museum's public
image that is shown to high school students in
Chilpancingo, as well as identifying the best
communication channels for delivering its public
image. This was a quantitative-descriptive research in
which a survey was applied to 250 people through
convenience sampling; topics like the organization's
public image and its printed communication media
were discussed in this survey. Additionally, a content
analysis technique was applied to the museum's
official Facebook account.
The obtained results were used to identify areas of
opportunity in the museum's public image and the
communication channels that are being currently
used.
