Producción de cultivares criollos de Jamaica
Keywords:
calyx yield, number of calyces, leaves, nodes, Plant heightAbstract
The objective of the present study was to determine
if there are differences in yield and agronomic
variables between jamaica native cultivars; the
relationship between the yield and the number of
calyxes and the model that explains the yield based
on the leaves number, nodes number and plant
height. The sowing of six Jamaican native cultivars
was on June 25, 2017 at a population density of 4.15
plants m-2 in Chilpancingo Gro. The results indicate
differences in yield and number of calyces between
cultivars. The standouts were La Palma, followed by
Tlalapa, Ayutla and Tetlalia. The lowest values were
found in Huamiles and El Amate cultivars. The
changes in yield were associated with the number of
calyces, and to a lesser extent with the height of the
plant and the nodes number. The regression model
involving the number of leaves, nodes number and
plant height can be an appropriate estimator of calix
yiled.
