Frecuencia genotípica del polimorfismo -308 G/A del gen TNF-α en la población estudiantil de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero.
Resumen
El TNF-α is a potent pleiotropic cytokine with
immunological and inflammatory response functions
and when it presents variants it can have beneficial or
detrimental effects on people's health. Various
polymorphisms have been detected in the promoter
region, one of these is the corresponding Guanine /
Adenine (G/A) in the -308 position. Objective: To
determine the presence of the polymorphism -308
G/A of the TNF-α gene in students of the UAGro
School of Medicine. Material and Methods: An
observational descriptive cross-sectional study was
conducted. The polymorphism -308 of the TNF-α
gene was genotified by PCR, the products were
separated by electrophoresis in 2% agarose gel
stained with ethidium bromide and visualized in UV
light. Results: A total of 203 samples were processed,
of which a genotypic distribution of 73.9%
homozygous G/G, 25.6% heterozygous A/G and
0.5% homozygous A/A was found, an allelic
frequency of 0.87 was evidenced for allele G and 0.13
for allele A. Conclusion: The genotypic and allelic
distribution presents an imbalance, showing a greater
frequency for the homozygous G/G and allele G.
Finding a homozygous individual A/A, originating in
the central region of the state of Guerrero.
